New GUI Controls

New GUI Controls

SouthWare has taken the initiative to implement new GUI Controls to provide a better interface for data processing.  These new controls include:

Calendar Control

SouthWare’s Calendar now displays data within a grid and offers multiple view modes.  The new controls also provide functionality of accessing and changing the underlying data.

The implementations associated with this control are a TaskWise grid, a Service Scheduler Board and a Delivery Scheduler Board.  The grid can be viewed by monthly, weekly or daily format.

Print Spooler Control

This control is currently being used as a print preview, but has the potential to be a cross-platform printing capabilities for printing non-Windows spools from Windows printers.  SouthWare has also indicated that additional print formats will be accessible to the user via text strings, as development of this control continues.

MS MapPoint Interface

SouthWare has developed this control as a new OfficeLink type that can be used to generate a map for a single record, or multiple records using ReportMate.  Data Packets are used for output so that the user can apply custom formatting.  This interface has been integrated into the Scheduler Boards so that the user can map the service orders shown in the grid.  Maps can be created for:

·        A single service order.

·        Specific service orders for a Technician.

·        All service orders shown.

MS Agent has been integrated into the new GUI Controls to provide new task notification.  This technology could also serve to provide alternate message uses as well.
