I am continuously amazed by how many people I talk to who seem to think that an entry-level product like Quickbooks should meet the needs of their sophisticated company such as a $20 million manufacturing operation. Although this kind of solution might be great to start out with, no product is targeted towards businesses of every size, nor is any product ideally suited for every industry. With this in mind, here is where I think ACCPAC Pro fits best. Size of Company-Best Fit ACCPAC Pro Series is generally targeted towards mid-sized businesses. It is available in two editions- Enterprise and Small Business. The Small Business Edition (with a limited number of users) is targeted at growing small businesses who want access to more features. Industry Solutions Best Fit ACCPAC Pro Series Manufacturing offers mid-size manufacturing companies modification capabilities and a full feature set including MRPII support. The ACCPAC Warehouse Management System (WMS) integrates with both the Pro Series and Advantage product lines making it a good fit for distributors. Because Pro Series is written in Visual Fox Pro, there are also many third party solutions available including rental management, fleet service and point of sale capabilities. - END - |
