Ivan MacDonald, Senior Vice President and General Manager at ACCPAC Europe, conducted a live demonstration of ACCPAC's CRM.  Ivan expressed the concerns that go along with giving a live demonstration to a large audience, but said that he was ready.   He was well chosen for this live demo due his extensive work on this project, and the fact that he was "the new guy" to the company.  The audience laughed at this determination, and would have been probably been empathetic if there were any problems, but the demo proceeded with no glitches.

Ivan explained that ACCPACcrm.com is a hosted service used to provide customer service and marketing automation.  There are two versions of ACCPAC CRM:  Enterprise and Sales Team.  Access to the product is directly over the internet, so ACCPAC has included a partner protection program to help resellers to receive their 20% commission for selling to their customers.  So if a customer signs up for the CRM on the internet and fails to enter the reseller's name, the reseller still receives their due commission.

The live demonstration began with Ivan explaining that a customer can sign up for a 30 day free trial before committing to payment obligation.  This trial offers an actual system to enter real date into, or a test system so that the user can try a variety of situations.  This internet based product offers learning tools for the user including video training and advanced training for the administrator and the end user.

The increased usability requirements for CRM 5.6 were determined based on user feedback as inter-company testing of the product was extensive prior to it's release.  ACCPAC CRM's functionality for reporting, calendar, outlook and CTI were key for this product's development.  CRM has bidirectional integration the diaries and reminders.  It also offers a Quick Look to view specified information.  Ivan spoke of ACCPAC's CRM integration with Outlook as having the "tightest integration, bar-none to Outlook today".

Ivan talked about the plans for ACCPAC CRM 5.7, stating that it will integrate with competing software such as Quick Books, MS Great Plains, Simply Accounting, MAS 90 and MAS 200.   He demonstrated this integration by pulling up a Business Manager application using ACCPAC CRM.  He was able to display detailed information through this interface.  ACCPAC's CRM interfaces with competitor systems where it interprets and displays information in an organized and easy to read CRM GUI.
