Dave Brown's presentation covered the manufacturing software, MISys.  MISys uses three major modules.  Level 2 is for MRP and is used for material goods.  Level 3 is used for shop floor control.  It contains a serial lock and has a web deployment for companies who have offices in multiple physical locations. 

MISys technology is used to keep track of tools and also has a feature that uses a word document attachment to include pictures and charts with inventory information.  Their software can be used for work centers or suppliers.  MISys is designed with pure ACCPAC technology, so cross referencing is available using the item numbers.

The Cost Rollup functions are found on the Bill of Materials.  Resources add value with MISys software, but are not inventoried.   The Bill of Materials is multi-leveled and items can be drilled down 16 levels.  Dave explained that Bowing Airplane software only goes down 8 levels, so 16 levels is more than most companies will ever utilize.

The routing details are needed to determine the steps and time frames needed to complete a process.  Dave explained that MISys software uses the routing details to calculate how long it take to complete each step in a process.  It uses an integrated Gant Chart that will even factor holidays into the equation when tracking processes.

To do a Master Production Schedule, you can include:

• The current stock.
• Activities (work orders).
• Sales orders.

Some benefits of the MISys product that were described were:

• Problem alerts such as shortages.
• MRP creation.
• The Buy All button allows the computer to make the decisions about orders bases on pre-defined criteria.
• Prints audit reports for invoices.
• Materials changes on the Manufacturing Table so not change the Building Materials Table.

Some other points that Dave pointed out were that when you are working with projected values, the actuals are completed only after orders are done.  Production performance reports can be run for projected information as well.  In fact, MISys software includes 17 predefined groups and over 250 standard reports.  And you can create your own reports using Crystal Reports.
