Programming Language - e by Epicor was originally developed in code, but today much of the current product has been developed in C

Database - e by Epicor runs on an a proprietary  database.  runs on your choice of either Microsoft SQL Server or a b-tree file system database.

Source Code - e by Epicor's Source code is available only to Master Developers, of which there are many. 

Testing - I do not yet have details of Epicor Software's testing procedures. However I can tell you that their product has been fairly solid for many years.
