Hollinger to
Remain at Company Through August
MARION,
Ohio (May 21, 2002) – Bruce A. Hollinger, president of Exact Software North
America, the company that delivers software businesses never outgrow, has
stepped down from his duties as division president, but will remain with the
company through August, serving in a key technology advisory role.
Assuming leadership for the division is Bert Groenewegen, Exact Software N.V.’s CFO. In his new role, Hollinger will spearhead the pilot launch of Macola ES.
"Our
merger with Exact Software in February 2001 gave us the opportunity to create new
and highly competitive products through the merging of technologies, development
methodologies, resources and the integration of applications.” said Hollinger.
“Providing the leadership to bring these products – Macola ES and e-Synergy
– to the marketplace was a major area of focus this past year.
Stepping down as this division’s president enables me to focus
completely now on finalizing this initiative.”
Hollinger
founded Macola Software about 20 years ago, drawing upon his expertise as a
computer applications engineer to bring the company from its earliest roots as a
division of a larger organization (BMA Technologies) to the global entity it is
today.
Highlights
of Hollinger’s career include:

The development of an accounting
software line that garnered four consecutive PC Magazine/Price Waterhouse
Editors' Choice awards, as well as an Honorable Mention.

The continuation of that award
winning tradition with the development of the company’s manufacturing and
distribution software.
·
The divestiture of Macola in 1994,
which saw Macola become an independent corporation.
·
The pursuit of aggressive growth by
partnering in 1996 with General Atlantic Partners, LLC, a private
equity investment firm focused exclusively on information technology and
communications investments.
· The signing of a merger agreement in February 2001, with Exact Software N.V. of the Netherlands. Exact Software is the Dutch-based leader in international e-Business and ERP solutions.
Throughout
his career, Hollinger has been instrumental in establishing technology-based
development in Ohio by advising or serving on a number of technology committees.
His entrepreneurial abilities were honored in 1998 when he was named a
Central Ohio recipient of the Ernst & Young LLP Entrepreneur of the Year
Award for Business Leadership in America.
Prior
to founding Macola, Hollinger was a computer applications engineer for Floyd
Browne and Associates and a structural engineer for American Bridge, a division
of U.S. Steel Corp.
