Best Software's MAS 90 Best Fit

I am continuously amazed by how many people I talk to who seem to think that an entry-level product like Quickbooks should meet the needs of their sophisticated company such as a $20 million manufacturing operation. Sometimes I want to slap these people across the face with a wet mackerel. People please wake up. No product is targeted towards businesses of every size, nor is any product ideally suited for every industry. With this in mind, here is where I think MAS 90 fits best.

Size of Company-Best Fit

MAS 90 is generally targeted towards companies with revenues between $2 million to $25 million. It is typically used by companies with 1 to 10 users. MAS 200 runs on your choice of two higher-end, client server databases, including Microsoft SQL Server. Accordingly, MAS 200 is generally targeted towards companies with revenues between $10 million to $100 million. It is typically used by companies with 10 to 50 users. To understand the difference between MAS 90 and MAS 200, consider the following story as relayed by MAS 90 Guru - Taylor Macdonald concerning one of his clients:

His client was using MAS 90 to process approximately 600 orders a day and it took nearly three hours to post all of these orders each evening. However, after upgrading to MAS 200, the company found that the same volume of transactions were posted in less than 3 minutes. Clearly, MAS 200 represents a quantum step forward in terms of performance compared to MAS 90. It is simply a matter of volume and number of users. Most smaller companies find that MAS 90 meets their needs just fine, but as they grow, MAS 200 offers a natural and relatively painless upgrade path.

Industry Solutions Best Fit

MAS 90 fits a wide variety of industries very well, which helps explain why it is the most popular mid-market solution with more than 86,000 users. In particular, MAS 90 practically owns the small-to-medium size inventory market. If you are a company with $2 million to $15 million in revenue and you deal with inventory in any way, MAS 90 should move to the top of your short list as your number one candidate. MAS 90 offers modules to meet your Bill of Materials, Star Ship, Wireless Devices, and Bar Coding needs. Likewise, service companies and companies with heavy sales people are very nicely served as well. For these companies, MAS90 includes modules such as Remote Salespersons, Contact Management, CRM, Timeslips, TimeCard, and Time Keeper. For retail environments, MAS 90 includes scanning and credit card processing solutions.

In addition to these obvious industries, MAS 90 also offers solutions for many specific industries such as:

Work Orders

Bill of Lading

Home Heat

Card Link

Job Operations and Production System

Job Operations Configurator

Petroleum Distribution Solution

Rental Management Solution

Food Distribution
