A Review of

Traverse

Traverse Best Fit

I am continuously amazed by how many people I talk to who seem to think that a entry-level product like Quickbooks should meet the needs of their sophisticated company such as a $20 million manufacturing operation. Sometimes I want to slap these people across the face with a wet mackerel. People please wake up. No product is targeted towards businesses of every size, nor is any product ideally suited for every industry. With this in mind, here is where I think Traverse fits best.

Size of Company-Best Fit

Traverse is generally targeted towards companies with revenues between $5 million and $250 million. It is typically used by companies with 5 to 100 users. However, the product can be a good choice for much smaller companies with as little as $1 million in revenue, or larger companies with revenue up to $500 million.

Industry Solutions Best Fit

For example within the Business Services (7300) category, Open Systems reports that the top ten industries (by SIC code) that purchase the Traverse product are as follows:

1.   7389 Business Services
2.   7371 Computer Programming Service
3.   7379 Computer Related Services
4.   7359 Equipment Rental Leasing
5.   7372 Prepackaged Software
6.   7382 Security Systems Service
7.   7374 Computer Processing Data Prep
8.   7373 Computer Integrated System Design
9.   7361 Employment Agencies
10. 7334 Photocopying Duplicating Services

Traverse easily fits many industries right out of the box and offers many industry specific solutions such as manufacturing, advanced distribution, and non-profit accounting. Provided below is a table of the key industries depicting where Traverse best fits (indicated with a yellow highlight):
