Oracle Small Business Suite Look & Feel

The Oracle Small Business Suite (version 7.7) screens shown above are used to create a sales order

Likes:  Easy to follow layout.  Since this is a web based product, it has a crisp look to it and a bigger area to work with than your standard form. The scroll bar on the right moves you from the top half of the form to the bottom area which contains the line item detail.  We also love those folder tabs and using any color other than gray.

We like the icons, the VCR buttons provided and the bold fonts next to data entry fields stand out nicely.

Dislikes: Its a little confusing to figure out which row of tabs you need to use when.  There are folder tabs at the top of the screen for Program  Actions, tabs in the middle for overall Order Transactions and tabs on the bottom for Line Item Transactions.  These tabs are different from most in that they actually perform functions rather than taking you to additional input fields.

As we stated above there is a lot of information provided in one place.  Some of the fields could have been organized better- note how the "discount", "rate", and "discount total" fields start in the middle of the page while the "terms", "PO#" and "ship via" fields start at the left hand margin.  Also, its not obvious where  the line item entry section starts - it could use a header description.  (Note: the look and feel as well as the navigation flow can be customized by the user.)
