A Review of

Small Business Manager

 Best Fit

I am continuously amazed by how many people I talk to who seem to think that an entry-level product like Quickbooks should meet the needs of their sophisticated company such as a $20 million manufacturing operation. Sometimes I want to slap these people across the face with a wet mackerel. People please wake up. No product is targeted towards businesses of every size, nor is any product ideally suited for every industry. With this in mind, here is where I think Small Business Manager fits best.

Size of Company-Best Fit

Small Business Manager is generally targeted towards companies with revenues up to $5 million . It is typically used by companies with a maximum of five concurrent users. The product claims to support an unlimited number of users, just limiting the number of concurrent users. Small Business Manager runs on your choice of two Microsoft SQL Server™ 2000 Desktop Engine (2 gigabyte database maximum per company), and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 .  It is well suited for companies that need more than basic accounting software, Microsoft Business Solutions Small Business Manager offers powerfully integrated functionality to allow you to manage all aspects of your business and it scales to grow with your business.
